What happens before your street is finished

Crews maintain main and arterial roads first. Repeated snowfall can keep equipment on these routes.

Hills, curves, and other bus routes
Work follows Priority 1. If snow resumes, crews may have to return to the main routes rather than continuing straight through the list.

Finish residential backstreets
The remaining local streets follow Priorities 1 and 2. Check the map for your own block, not just the nearest cleared road.

Kitchener parking rules that matter
- During a declared snow event, do not park on city streets.
- From December 1 to March 31, street parking between 2:30 and 6 a.m. needs a valid exemption even without snow.
- A significant weather event and a snow event are different declarations. Read the notice rather than assuming either label means the same parking rule.

Why did crews return to the main road?
New snowfall can restart work on Priority 1 roads before crews finish lower-priority streets.
Can I leave my car overnight when no snow is falling?
The seasonal overnight restriction still applies from December 1 to March 31. Check the exemption page and any active snow-event notice.
