After the main routes are clear, crews move into side streets, cul-de-sacs, and alleys when accumulation and the forecast support it.

New or heavier snowfall can pull equipment back to first attention routes before local work is complete.

Grand Rapids parking rules that matter
- Seasonal rules apply only on streets with the matching signs from November 1 through April 1.
- From 1 a.m. to 6 p.m. on an odd date, park on the odd addressed side. On an even date, use the even addressed side.
- From 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., either side is allowed unless a sign says otherwise. Move before 1 a.m. for the new date.
- A one side parking sign prohibits parking on the marked side at all times during the season.

A local street can remain snow covered while first attention routes are still being treated. Heavy or renewed snowfall may also send crews back to the main network.
