- Occasional parking permits are not valid during an active snow event or the related cleanup period.
- A parked vehicle that blocks operations may be ticketed or towed.
- Follow posted signs and current Town notices even if you previously received parking permission.

Who clears what in Ajax
The city plow department is not responsible for every road, sidewalk, driveway, alley, or parking area.
Town of Ajax
Clears Town roads by priority and maintains assigned sidewalks, trails, parking lots, and school crossings.
Durham Region and Ontario
Clear regional roads and provincial highways. Their routes can pass through Ajax without appearing as Town work.
Residents and businesses
Keep vehicles out of the route, clear adjoining pedestrian access where required, and remove the driveway windrow.

Primary roads are cleared before neighbourhood streets, and continuing snow can require repeated work on the main network. Give crews time to finish the assigned route.

Can I use an occasional parking permit during a snow event?
No. Ajax says occasional parking permission is not valid while snow operations are active, including the surrounding cleanup period.
Who clears the snow left across my driveway?
The resident or property owner is responsible for the driveway windrow. Eligible residents can check the Town's snow removal assistance program.
